Lecture series for High School Seniors and Juniors pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.
$100 registration fee

Upon completion of course a certificate will given and participating students who also meet LIU admissions requirements may be eligible for LIU scholarships based on academic merit.
Program includes
  1. Information on Veterinary Technology careers, and (DVM) Doctor of Veterinary Medicine admissions requirements and careers.
  2. Hands on laboratory skills may include: suturing, CPR, IV catheter placement and reviewing anatomy and bones for large and small animals, emergency topics and care, radiology, restraint and handling, bandaging techniques, intubation during anesthesia, giving injections, how to run laboratory tests including fecal exams.
  3. Visit our equine facility on campus, North Shore Equestrian Center on campus. IHSA and NCAA equestrian program will be discussed.
  4. A tour of LIU College of Veterinary Medical School and participation of skills fun lab.
